Jaime Mancuso graduated from Plymouth State University with a B.A in Theatre Arts: Theatrical Design and Technology with a focus on Light Design and Stage Management. She is currently attending the University of Nebraska- Lincoln, The Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film where she is working on her Masters of Fine Arts: Stage Design with an emphasis in Lighting Design. Theatre is not her only passion, she also enjoys photography and music.
Jaime grew up in Connecticut and didn't find her passion for theatre until her sophomore year of high school at South Windsor High School (SWHS). She started as a carpenter at SWHS with the after school program called Tech Crew. This is where she learned some of her basic skills and then kept building them, first becoming there lead painter and then during senior year she became the stage manager for the three productions the school put on. She also helped out with the band, orchestra and choir concerts the school put on.
In her senior year of high school she took a class called theatre management where she learned basic sound, light and rigging skills. This class also helped out with the choir competitions where the tech crew had to set up and break down the band in 5 minutes before and after the choir called Choral Spectrum did there performance. These competitions included loading and unloading the truck with all of the equipment and props along with then setting it all up to be wheeled into place for each performance and then packing it all back up for the truck. This was her first introduction to touring a small show. Since high school she has helped load and unload trucks as an over hire hand and as part of a summer stock theatre.
